Why Couldn't Charlamagne The God Just Call Trump’s ‘Quiet, Piggy,’ Line What It Is?
This week’s episode of Brilliant Idiots, co-hosted by Andrew Schulz and Charlamagne Tha God, discussed an incident last week where President Donald Trump snapped at a female reporter aboard Air Force One, telling the woman to “quiet, piggy.”
That dominated headlines—the White House immediately defended Trump’s hateful comment, while the president faced immense criticism for it outside of the MAGA bubble. Schulz and Charlamagne The God seemed less concerned with the ethics of Trump snapping at the reporter and more concerned with whether it was a good ‘joke’.
“What is her real name?” Schulz asked about the reporter. For the record, the reporter’s name is Catherine Lucey.

“You are asking the wrong question,” Charlamagne Tha God admonished. “Why didn't they show us her? Who is she? Like…I need a description because the joke landed, but I need to see the visual of who the fuck was he talking to.”
Off camera, a producer asked, "He's calling people a pig?”
“Piggy,” Charlamagne clarified. “Pig don't slap. Piggy. Pig don't slap. Calling somebody a pig is…But when you say piggy…”
“They don't have mirrors in the White House?” the producer asked off camera, clearly disgusted by Trump’s words and lack of awareness regarding his own body type.
“I mean, come on, man,” Charlamagne the God said. “I'm with you. It's all about who said it first.”
That’s not entirely true; Trump is not at Wild n’ Out, competing to get insults out the fastest. He was at the official presidential airport speaking to a journalist bound by professional ethics to ask the leader of the United States tough questions about his job. Trump didn’t beat Lucey to the punch of delivering a sick burn—he violated the social contract by lobbing a rude and misogynistic comment in response to a question he didn’t like.
“What is her real name? Is her name Piglet?” Schulz continued.
Another producer provided the name off-screen, before both Schulz and Charlamagne demanded pictures of the reporter. “Images now,” Charlemagne said. “Look her up,” Schulz echoed. “Images now,” Charlamagne repeated.
The first producer quietly begged: “Don’t do this.”
They do it. And it gets worse. As the pair waited for a photo of Lucey, Charlamagne continued.
“He knew exactly what he was saying. He leaned in. He pointed the finger. He had a little glee in his eye. He knew exactly what the fuck he was doing.” Charlamagne said. “I need to see her now. I've been wanting to see her all week.”
Schulz seemed to struggle with fully internalizing the insult, just repeating “quiet, piggy,” over and over while Charlemagne continued philosophizing about the efficacy of the insult.
“And Piggy only works on a chunky woman. But if this girl's not chunky, why would he call her that? That's why we got to look and see,” Charlamagne said. “That's why we got to look and see. Piggy only works on chunky women. Y'all don't ever try that on a man. Piggy don't slap on a man.”
At this point, a photo of Lucey finally appears. Charlemagne and Schulz expressed wonder. After saying it was only funny to call a larger-bodied woman “piggy” they were presented with a woman Schulz categorized as “small.”
“That's why I think there's something we're missing,” Schulz said.
“That’s gotta be old pictures or something,” Charlamagne said.
“Why are you guys contorting yourselves here? He said what he said,” the first producer said.
It’s a great question. But if the hosts of Brilliant Idiots are looking for some insults that do land on this score, I’ve got one for Schulz and Charlamange: “Sexist assholes.”
