These Are All the Movies ‘Scary Movie 6’ Should Parody

Marlon Wayans has shared a list of the movies that he and his creative team are hoping to parody in the highly anticipated Scary Movie 6. It was recently confirmed that both Anna Faris and Regina Hall will be returning for the movie, which will cede creative control back over to the Wayans brothers after Harvey Weinstein effectively stole the franchise from them. 

The movies that have crossed Wayans radar so far include Nope, Heretic, Sinners, Longlegs, Get Out and I Know What You Did Last Summer. 

“I’m just a fan of the whole genre, man,” Wayans told Comicbook.com. “I Know What You Did Last Summer may have something in there. I think the Scream franchise is always a great one. I think Heretic was a wonderful film. Longlegs. Get Out. Nope. There are just so many great horror films to pull from that we plan on having a field day. Sinners.”

Great films to choose from indeed. And the internet was quick to offer additional titles that the Wayans should consider while working on Scary Movie 6.

Of the movies that were repeatedly suggested, M3gan, The Substance, Pearl, Midsommar, Talk to Me and Hereditary came out on top. People really, really want Faris to do Florence Pugh’s role in Midsommar, as well as portray Pearl. 

Meanwhile, Jane Schoenbrun, the director of the 2024 movie I Saw the TV Glow said that they too, would like to have their film parodied in Scary Movie 6. In a post on X, they wrote:

Personally I want to be totally surprised by how they parody this excellent modern era of horror. Cindy as M3gan? Sign me up. Brenda and Cindy beating Hugh Grant’s ass in Heretic? Yes, please. I’m just going to be happy to be in theaters watching it all.
