In the world of film, the laws of reality don’t apply. That includes the laws of physics, which is why cars in movies are always exploding the second someone shoots at them, and even, you know, the laws of law, if the amount of crime the supposed “good guys” get away with is any indication.

Dismayingly, this also applies to the laws of good taste at the low end and sex crimes at the top. The way some characters behave, even beloved ones, that get a pass in the movies and on TV would force them to introduce themselves to their neighbors every time they moved at least 1,000 feet from any nearby schools in the real world.
