The only thing that interests me at all about scientology is how and why it preys on the entertainment industry so effectively. The sociological aspects are amazing to me. You would think that people who fork over the money to worship these folk would find some problems with the fact that they are "batshit insane". But, as mentioned by others, a majority of the world still believes equally ludicrous fantasies. I think as they get more isolated by their fame and privilege some of these actors are finding it harder to pretend to be right thinking humans, which is their only real job duty.

When playing the "what if" game...would you accept all of the money and power these people have if you knew ahead of time you would become a true scientologist? I just don't see what having everything in the world is wrth if you must become the biggest punch line in history and lose the ability for rational thought. Although I wouldn't trade for any other religion either. I don't see the merit of belief without proof or reason. But scientology just seems...dumb. Those are the people that are somewhat shocking. The ones who you assumed weren't vacuous.
