At least the people who made up the major religions died thousands of years ago. Scientology was dreamed up by a fat hypocritical science fiction writer and is swallowed whole despite obvious evidence to the contrary.

The other major religions were dreamed up at a time when people couldnt google s**t to find out how stupid the ideas were. Christ, even in the 50s people had to know better.

You would think as an agnostic that I would be laughing at all these idiots in Scientology and pretty much every organized religion in the world. But I'm not.
All this proves is that anyone can be a victim of mass delusion or "going with the flow". It can be politics, religion, a bad movie that you swear is the best even though, deep down you could swear it was vomited from the mouth of a walrus. I don't think anyone has the right to look smug at other's gullibility. In one form or another, all of us have drank the kool-aid.

I found your post rather contradictory. I don't like to be critical of others, but I wanted to point out that telling someone else they are welcome to their beliefs - and to allow others to have theirs - after putting tithing down is a huge contradiction. Christions who tithe are following the bible, where it says to tithe 10 percent. Also, many churches would not be able to remain open without tithing. For these churches, the pastor receives little or no money. Is tithing abused? Certainly: there have been many scandals to prove this. Nevertheless, it is part of many religions and for this reason, it should be not be put down by someone who is preaching tolerance. Again, I don't like to be critical, I am just trying to point out that perhaps you need to be more tolerant telling someone else to do so.
