39 Stereotypes Busted Like a Very Strange Episode of 'Mythbusters'

“The stereotype comes from somewhere” is what your racist Uncle probably said at some point during Thanksgiving dinner, forcing everyone to sit in an awkward silence for a moment or launch into an even more awkward and combative back-and-forth with someone who thinks YouTube comments are the same as books… A certain race does this, a certain hair color does that, people who do x usually like y… ad nauseum to infinity and beyond the end of the universe. We've collected some of these common stereotypes that many people still believe for some reason, and found which of them are actually verifiably and extraordinarily false. Sorry to burst your Uncle's broad generalizations about different groups of people, but it turns out that most of them are either not true… or even entirely the opposite. This would end up being the weirdest episode of Mythbusters ever produced, but if we're being honest… we kind of want to see it?
