But what happens when a record is broken by an athlete who has used performance-enhancing drugs? Some argue that such athletes have cheated their way to success and that their accomplishments should be stricken from the record books. Others believe that as long as athlete follows the letter of the law, their achievements should be recognized. Regardless of where one stands on the issue, there's no denying that the use of performance-enhancing drugs has changed the landscape of sports records forever.

They say records are made to be broken. That's mostly true because as games evolve, athletes get faster and stronger, and they have more influences or examples of greatness to build upon. Some records are outliers, standing alone high above the rest. Most Consecutive Shutouts by a Goalkeeper

Edwin van der Sar had 11 consecutive shutouts in the '08/'09 Premier League, but Mazaropi's streak of over 20 games (1,816 minutes) in the '77/'78 Rio de Janeiro State Championship is nearly impossible to break.
