SPIDENTION EASTER EGGSTRA! INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Homage to comics: Color offsets. The creators wanted to use the imperfections of early comic books to design the film. We noticed that sometimes in printing comic books, the color offsets were not aligned properly and this looked like the image was out of focus. So, we splintered and offset the image in a way that is similar to a misprinted comic book page. This effect made the colors bleed out in certain images, making it look like these images were literally printed onto the screen. CRACKED — FX Guide

EASTER EGGSTRA MEANINGS, AND REFERENCES THE SHICIDE SQUAD BLOODSPORT'S CAPTAIN America moment In The Avengers scene where Cap finally takes charge of the team during the Battle of New York, he gives each member a task best suited for their skills. For instance, he tells Hulk to smash. Bloodsport has a similar scene in the climactic battle of The Suicide Squad, even telling King Shark that Starro is nom nom. To make the movie look like an actual comic book, the creators eliminated motion blur and held an image for two frames instead of one SO that, if you pause an image, it would look like a comic page. SQUAD CORTO MALTESE REVOLUTION pics-by-Vicky Vale Tim Burton's BATMAN 89 In the movie, Corto Maltese is a small South American island, first seen on film in Burton's Batman as part of Vicki Vale's backstory as a photojournalist. In the comics, Corto Maltese made its first appearance in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns in 1986. It's a homage to an anti-hero cult character created by illustrator Hugo Pratt in 1967.
