Totally True Historical Moments That Sound Fake
Throughout history, events have occurred that seem unbelievable, yet they were real, however absurd and incredible they may sound. On several occasions, it's hard to believe these events, but even though they seem strange, they are recorded in history books and include anecdotes.
In the following collection of images, you can see a Yemenite Jewish family walking through the desert during Operation Magic Carpet in 1949, or Winston Churchill in 1928 building a cottage at his Chartwell estate, using bricklaying to balance his writing, joking that he produced 200 bricks and 2,000 words a day.
You can also see photos of Nicoleta Nicolescu, the leader of the Iron Guard's female wing, leading a salute for other Romanian women at a summer camp.
These events demonstrate that history can be unpredictable and surprise us with astonishing events that are documented in books.
