Robert Moses was one of New York's most influential figures in the 1900s. The urban planner and public official was responsible for shaping most of America's urban landscapes thanks to his wide network of connections and the lack of legislation at the time. He created, through New York's bridges and highways, the way lots of towns and cities would look in North America for the rest of their days. And it's not particularly good.
His style is often seen as lifeless due to the amount of concrete structures and paved roads that are the center of his creations, making his work pretty monotonous and completely focused on the use of cars to move from and to anywhere.
But it's safe to say that his influence is alive and well to this day, with many other countries following Moses' example and creating grey landscapes full of towers, roads, and infinite parking lots that are rarely full.
