Again, we hate being those “back in our day” types, but back in our day, movies shown on TV knew when to cut to commercial. Some fine folks at the station watched said film and picked the best times to plunk in the Colgate ads. 

No one at the streaming services seems to be doing that nowadays, and if they are, they’re just plain bad at their jobs. These movie facts must be taking a page out of the new school book, and it’s enraging. They’re lucky they’re so darn cute and interesting, or we wouldn’t put up with it.

Blade Runner screenwriter Hampton Fancher threw a fit when he was asked for a rewrite. He had left the movie on pretty bad terms, but they asked him to rewrite the final scene. After he saw their footage, he started crying. Editor Terry Rawlings came up behind him and held his head to his own belly, while Ridley Scott and the studio execs left in embarrassment.
