A straight-up battle between good and evil can actually be pretty boring. You ask, “Wait, why is that guy bad?” and the only answer is, “Because he’s bad!” We like our villains with a little depth, you know? Someone or something with a reason for their wicked deeds — even if the reason for villainy is unforgivable.

The villains we’ll discuss here today were so deep that one could honestly get behind them. We’re not fully saying that we do, but they make some decent points. Either way, kudos to the people who created such deep, multidimensional villains.

Jason Voorhees

GRACKED DON'T JUDGE KILLMONGER BY HIS NAME ALONE. BLACK PANTHER After serving in the U.S. military, he planned to avenge his father by using vibranium to liberate his oppressed people. Sure, it meant taking over Wakanda by force, but he only wanted better for black communities all over the world.

Draco Malfoy

GRACKED DRACO MALFOY WAS BORN INTO VILLAINY. HARRY POTTER Yes, the spoiled daddy's boy was easy to hate, but he was indoctrinated by his Death Eater father. Не was reluctant to join the Death Eaters and Voldemort, and would not kill Dumbledore. If born into the Weasley family, he'd be a funny little guy.

Kylo Ren

GRACKED KYLO REN JUST NEEDED SOME PROPER GUIDANCE. STAR WARS His parents sent him off to train with Luke, who tried to kill him! Without a strong father figure, Ben lacked the support system to keep him from the Dark Side. We see his desire to be good throughout the trilogy.

Frankenstein’s Monster

CRACKED WHO DECIDED THAT FRANKENSTEIN'S CREATION WAS A MONSTER? FRANKENSTEIN Не didn't ask to be created. From the moment he's brought to life, his confusion and distress is mistaken for aggression, he's labeled a monster, and met with torches and pitchforks. Dr. Frankenstein and the townspeople are the real villains here.

VILLAIN: Stan Gable MOVIE: Revenge of the Nerds VILLAINY: Doesn't want the nerds to form a fraternity, or live a wedgie-free life. BUT WAIT! Those same nerds break into his girlfriend's sorority to take nude photos of her, and trick her into having sex. CRACKED.COM

Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze

Cartoonish villains we want to see succeed Batman & Robin Mr. Freeze & Poison Ivy The movie has been trashed enough, but the theatrical campiness of its villains makes them much more engaging characters than Bland Billionaire and Blander Heartthrob. Plus, their plans (especially Ivy's) are overtly environmentalist, which today makes them the real heroes. CRACKED.COM
