When rumors swirled of a potential on-set affair between Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney, the universe rejoiced: Romcoms were back in a big way, and Julia Roberts was somewhere smiling. But that buzz quickly came to a screeching halt with the first official look at Anyone But You in the form of a trailer that was neither romantic nor comedic. In fact, everyone on the timeline was sure to point out that it barely looked a step above a Lifetime movie. In fairness, since you shouldn’t always judge a movie by its trailer, we’ll have to wait until December to see if Powell and Sweeney managed to transfer their electrifying chemistry from still images to the screen. But it’s certainly not looking good.
Lucky for Powell, though, the Top Gun: Maverick actor wasn’t the only one taking heat over the last seven days.
