22 Movies That Prove the ‘70s Weren’t All Chinatowns and Foxy Browns
Not to freak you out too much, but we just thought we should let you know we invented time travel. Well, “we” as in “society,” not us personally. To be fair, it’s limited to approximately when we started making movies, because spoiler alert, all you have to do is press play on a film from whatever era you want to experience. Historical documents and artifacts are one thing, but you just can’t get a true handle on the vibe, practices, and most importantly, haircuts of the past any other way.
That’s why Redditor GollywoodFilms was “doing a deep dive on ‘70s America based on how it was portrayed in the movies,” they told r/70s. “I have quite the list so far, but (I’m) always looking for new ones, ones that may have gone under my radar. No genre is off limit(s). I am avoiding period pieces, though; strictly movies from the ‘70s set in the ‘70s.”
They then asked “for some lesser-known American ‘70s movies,” and the whole subreddit happily went back in time with them for answers.
