White House Communications Director Likens Jimmy Kimmel to ‘A Used Empty Beer Can’

Even as Jimmy Kimmel prepares to return to his late-night post tomorrow night, Trump administration officials are still claiming they had nothing to do with his indefinite suspension from ABC.

White House communications director Steven Cheung recently reiterated that the administration wasn’t involved with the Disney-owned network’s decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live!, arguing that nothing besides the host’s status as a “no-talent loser” led to his show’s nearly weeklong removal from air.

“Jimmy Kimmel is a no-talent loser who has beclowned himself with tanking ratings and by spewing disgusting lies to his audience,” Cheung said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “That’s why the network kicked him to the curb like a used empty beer can.”

Cheung also sounded off on The View, denouncing the show’s hosts as “a collection of irrelevant has-beens and never-beens” when asked about their segment discussing Kimmel’s suspension and its relation to the First Amendment on Monday.

The View is also devoid of actual talent,” Cheung continued, claiming that “nobody with any common sense would ever watch unless it was to laugh at them.”

Cheung’s comments came shortly after the show finally broke its silence on the controversy surrounding its late-night counterpart. “You can not like a show, and it can go off the air,” longtime host Whoopi Goldberg remarked earlier this morning, noting that she and her co-stars waited “to see if Jimmy was going to say anything about it” before sharing their own takes.

“Someone can say something they shouldn’t and get taken off the air. But the government cannot apply pressure to force someone to be silenced.”

Now we’ll see what the used empty beer can has to say about all of this tomorrow night.
