Here’s Actually Mean Stuff Jimmy Kimmel Has Said About Donald Trump and MAGA

Comedian Jim Gaffigan posted this message to Instagram shortly after ABC indefinitely suspended Jimmy Kimmel last night:

Without getting into the words that got Kimmel in trouble, Gaffigan’s point is a good one. Kimmel has said plenty of worse things about Donald Trump and the MAGA community in the years leading up to his most recent shows.

Here are five mean jokes and plain ol’ diatribes that Kimmel has made about Trump and his supporters without the blink of an ABC eye…

A Terrible Night

After Trump beat Kamala Harris last November, Kimmel opened his show with a harsh rebuke of both the candidate and the people who voted for him.

“It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard working immigrants who make this country go, for healthcare, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech,” Kimmel said. “It was a terrible night for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on Social Security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO and democracy and decency. And it was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him. And guess what? It was a bad night for everyone who voted for him too. You just don’t realize it yet.”

“It was a really good night for Putin and for polio and for lovable billionaires like Elon Musk, and the bros up in Silicon Valley,” he concluded. “And all the wriggling brain worms who sold what was left of their souls to bow down to Donald Trump.”

Running on Empty

“The fact of the matter is, this is a dangerous person, a stupid person, and that's a bad combination,” Kimmel told Morning Joe during the last election cycle. “I think what we’re forgetting, he’s not just running for president, he’s running to stay out of prison and that’s a pretty powerful thing. He’s literally running for his freedom.”

What Time Is It?

When Kimmel hosted the Oscars last year, Trump complained on Truth Social about the jokes at his expense. “Get rid of Kimmel!” he posted, a harbinger of what was to come.

Kimmel read Trump’s post on the live telecast, then fired back. “Thank you for watching,” he said. “I’m surprised you’re still awake. Isn’t it past your jail time?”

People subsequently sold T-shirts and coffee mugs with the “Isn’t it past your jail time?” slogan.

Unhinged

In 2017, Kimmel unloaded on Trump after a press conference in which the President “opened his mouth and all manner of stupid came out.”

The press conference was supposed to be about infrastructure, but it ended with our president making “an angry and passionate defense of white supremacists. It was like if your book club meeting turned into a cock fight.”

What did Kimmel think of Trump’s performance? “I feel like I can say this with reasonable certainty. The president is completely unhinged. The wheels are off the wagon and hurtling toward the moon right now.”

The Next Best Thing to Being There

Donald Trump was scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2015, but canceled at the last minute due to a major political commitment.

“I’m dying to find out what this major political commitment was. Usually, it means he had to go on CNN to call someone an idiot, or something. Why did he cancel? We told him there were cameras here, right? Are Tuesday nights the night he volunteers down at the orphanage?” Kimmel told Howard Stern. “Don’t worry. We’re giving everyone in our audience a basketball dipped in cologne, so you can fully experience what it would have been like if he was here.”
