21 of the Most Inaccurate Movie Titles
Here in the post-Snakes on a Plane world, movie titles tend to be very literal. Cowboys & Aliens. Cocaine Bear. Dune. Whatever their faults, you absolutely cannot say that those things weren’t in those movies. Sometimes, though, you emerge blinking from the theater, glance at your ticket stub as it drifts into the recycling bin, and say, “Hey, wait a minute...” It’s like if you spent two hours watching the story of a heroin goat only to realize the cocaine bear never showed up.
That was apparently on user ThePurityPixel’s mind recently, when they challenged r/Movies to name the least accurate movie titles they could think of. “To clarify, it could be a movie where the title itself (not just the trailer or a poster) misled you, either to your disappointment or your delight,” they said. “Or it could be a discrepancy you didn't notice until after watching the movie and, in retrospect, you realized how unfitting the title choice was. Or perhaps you didn’t think about it till now!”
They then asked, “In your view, what movie titles give the most inaccurate view of what actually happens in the movie or what the movie is actually about?” and commanded Reddit, “Discuss!”
