Britney Spears And 'Tiger King' Is Complicated

By now you all know about Tiger King, either through having seen it on Netflix or by having it ramrodded into your consciousness through an endless assault of memes and think-pieces. Well, we have one more piece of thought for you here, and it's all about Britney, bitch.

At the 2002 VMA's Britney Spears was photographed with someone who appeared to be Carole Baskin of Big Cat Rescue. For those of you still somewhat murky on the Tiger King players, Carole is the foil to Joe Exotic AKA the eponymous Tiger King. She's essentially the Joker to his Batman. Or he's the Joker to her Batman. It depends on what side you are on. Really they're both kind of Jokers and Gotham City is one big mess of exploited jungle cats.

Meanwhile the tiger used in Britney's VMA "Slave 4 U" performance belonged to Doc Antle. Again, for those unfamiliar, Doc was a mentor to Joe Exotic, so kind of like a Ra's Al Ghul except creepier and with more tigers and cult members. Basically, Britney Spears appears to have fraternized with both sides of the Tiger King divide.

So we have some questions for you Britney Spears and we demand to know the answers. Are you on team Carole or team Joe/Doc? Was that Carole sitting next to you at the VMA's? And if not, as her reps have claimed, why are you inviting Carole Baskin look-alike's to the VMA's? That's just weird. Did you know about Doc Antle's treatment of animals and women? How deep does this connection go? Is there going to be footage showing up of Joe Exotic doing blow with Kevin Federline?
