Classic Jim Carrey Roles That Nobody Remembers
In 1994, after working on different movies and TV shows, Jim Carrey starred in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber. His facial expressions and his versatility for physical comedy crowned him the king of comedy in the '90s, but he was just getting started. In 1995, he played the Riddler in Batman Forever and starred in the sequel Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. In other words, it was pretty much impossible to stay away from him, as he was, indeed, the moment.
However, Jim Carrey's career didn't start in 1994. He had many different roles in dramas, comedies, and even noir films during the '80s, trying to find his own voice and his own style in an era full of amazing comedians and Oscar-worthy actors. While none of those roles really stand out, it was clear that they helped him become the star who took over entertainment a decade later.
So, here are some classic Jim Carrey roles that nobody remembers.
Simon Birch (1998)

In 1998, Jim Carrey was already a superstar, so having him in the movie, at least for a little while, really helped Simon Birch make everyone cry.
Rubberface (1981)

Someone saw Jim Carrey making faces and said, “That's it!”
Mike Hammer: Murder Takes All (1989)

A family drama with big names and a great performance by Carrey before his career went in the opposite direction.

Jim Carrey had a very small role in this one. However, some time after he became extremely famous, they designed a new poster for the movie with his face front and center.

A film full of dirty jokes and skits you shouldn't watch with your family.
The Duck Factory (1984)

The TV show was a sitcom about an animator going to Hollywood to work with his idols, but things take weird turns, mixing weird laugh tracks with dramatic moments.

Another Clint Eastwood film. Another chance for Jim Carrey to play a stand-up comedian.

Alongside Kathleen Turner and Nicolas Cage, Jim Carrey was part of the cast that also featured Helen Hunt, Sofia Coppola, and more.

A comedy full of characters and ridiculous situations, with Carrey in a small role among big stars.
Copper Mountain (1983)

Jim Carrey didn't really know what he wanted to do yet, so he tried everything, even being a womanizer with bad luck.
Earth Girls Are Easy (1989)

Due to the chemistry between Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum, it's easy to forget Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans were there too.
The Majestic (2001)

After his breakout comedy roles, Jim Carrey went back to dramas with The Majestic in 2001. Sadly, between The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, nobody really remembers this one.
