Hairstyles and fashion trends come and go, and we usually get a sense of regret when we look back at the looks that defined a decade, but are pretty ridiculous nowadays. Curly hair, however, hits different. Mostly because it's still around, obviously, although it's not a trend everyone wants to get onto. But in the nineties, that was totally it.
And that was, in part, due to Hollywood's influence over us, which hit totally different back in the day. Lots of movies and TV shows starred girls and women with curly hair that would set the standard of beauty for a couple of years. The eighties had their fair share of curls, but this time, things were different. It was cool, it was chic, it took a lot of time and effort to keep them in check, but it was also totally worth it.
