Welcome to this PSA for aspiring filmmakers. We’d first like to begin by saying that working with other creative people can be tough, but nobody needs to get stabbed over some differences of opinion. Before disagreements get anywhere near such a level, stop and think to yourself, “This is just a movie. It’s people in costumes playing make-believe.” 

Man, we really wish these actors and directors found this PSA before they flipped their lids.

Grey’s Anatomy

Isaiah Washington threw fists and slurs. GREY'S ANATOMY CO CRACKED.COM In a single altercation, he choked out Patrick Dempsey and called a fellow cast member a homophobic slur.

Jaws

Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss made Jaws together. Behind the scenes, they feuded the whole time. It started when Shaw complained that he wished he could give up booze, and Dreyfuss responded by throwing Shaw's drink out the window. Red Planet

Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore had a nasty fight on the set of Red Planet. BURCHENAL GALLAGHER Kilmer got mad when he found out that the movie paid for Sizemore's workout machine to be shipped to set, and shouted, I'm making ten million on this; you're only making two. Sizemore tossed a 50-pound weight at him, but he didn't hit Kilmer's body. CRACKED.COM

Some Like It Hot

Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe were hotonscreen. Offscreen, he said kissing her was like kissing Hitler. During the filming of Some Like It Hot, Marilyn's issues made the shoot a living hell for the cast and crew. The Lords of Flatbush

Richard Gere had a messy lunch. THE LORDS OF FLATBUSH CRACKED.COM Gere hopped in a car with Sylvester Stallone to eat his lunch-- some mustard chicken in a flimsy foil wrap. Stallone told him to be careful, but Gere wouldn't listen. Of course, he spritzed some mustard on Sly, who had him booted from the car and the production.

Criminal Minds

Thomas Gibson is an alleged shin kicker. CRIMINAL MINDS CRACKED.COM His bad behavior finally caught up with him after kicking a writer/producer in the shins during a dialogue disagreement that went off the rails.

Boogie Nights

BURT REYNOLDS & PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON GRACKED.COM Reynolds felt that director Paul Thomas Anderson was unoriginal and cocky, and the pair once came close to blows on set. A 2018 article reported, Reynolds was so unhappy with Boogie Nights, despite never having seen it, he fired his agent afterward.

I Love Trouble

Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts couldn't stand each other on I Love Trouble. Roberts said he was a disgusting human being, and Nolte said It's not nice to call someone 'disgusting'. But she's not a nice person. Everyone knows that. CRACKED.COM

The Island of Dr. Moreau

Director John Frankenheimer hated working with Val Kilmer on a movie. The movie was The Island of Dr. Moreau, and he said There are two things I will never ever do in my whole life. The first is that I will never climb Mt. Everest. The second is that I will never work with Val Kilmer ever again. CRACKED.COM

Pierce Brosnan was kind of a prick to Teri Hatcher on Tomorrow Never Dies. In his words, I got very upset with her- she was always keeping me waiting for hours. I must admit I let slip a few words which weren't very nice. CRACKED.COM

Justice League

GAL GADOT, RAY FISHER & JOSS WHEDON CRACKED.COM When original director Zack Snyder bowed out of 'Justice League', Joss Whedon was roped in. Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg, alleged that Whedon behaved inappropriately on set, and Gadot alleged that Whedon threatened her career after she expressed unease with a sexualized comedy scene.

American Hustle

AMY ADAMS & DAVID O RUSSELL CRACKED.COM There could be a whole list for o Russell. In 2014, Amy Adams and David o Russell clashed on American Hustle. Adams said that he made her cry with his process of shouting at actors mid-scene. Не was hard on me, that's for sure, she told GQ. I was really just devastated on set. She has no intention of working with him again.

Batman Forever

TOMMY LEE JONES, VAL KILMER &JOEL SCHUMACHER CRACKED.COM In 1996, Batman Forever director Joel Schumacher called out Jones & Kilmer, saying I'm tired of defending overpaid, overprivileged actors. I pray I don't work with them again. Не called Jones an asshole and Kilmer psychotic and said, The two weeks where Kilmer didn't speak to me was bliss.

Super Mario Bros.

BOB HOSKINS, ROCKY MORTON & ANNABEL JANKEL CRACKED.COM The worst thing I ever did? Super Mario Brothers. It was a fuckin' nightmare. The whole experience was a nightmare. It had a husband-and-wife team directing, whose arrogance had been mistaken for talent. Fuckin' idiots. - Bob Hoskins.

The Shining

SHELLEY DUVALL & STANLEY KUBRICK CRACKED.COM Production delays on 'The Shining' kept Duvall from her family for a whole year, and Kubrick made her life a living nightmare by berating her in front of the crew. In an interview, she said, My character had to cry 12 hours a day the last nine months straight, five or six days a week.

National Lampoon’s Vacation

CHEVY CHASE & CHRIS COLUMBUS CRACKED.COM On 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation', Chase's nasty behavior led to director Chris Columbus quitting, and being replaced with Jeremiah Chechik. To be completely honest, Chevy treated me like dirt. I called John Hughes and said there's no way I can do this movie. I know I need to work but I can't do it with this guy.

Cop Out

BRUCE WILLIS & KEVIN SMITH CRACKED COM With multiple clashes on their 2010 film 'Cop Out', director Kevin Smith described Bruce Willis as unhappy, bitter, and mean. Willis was disruptive on set, telling Smith, I'm Bruce Willis, and I've been doing this for 25 years very successfully. Please don't put your loser stink on me.

Groundhog Day

Bill Murray cut Harold Ramis out of his life. GROUNDHOG DAY CRACKED.COM The two had been good friends since appearing together in Ghostbusters, but the relationship deteriorated while Ramis had to direct his old friend. Murray was throwing one of his regularly-scheduled tantrums when Ramis grabbed by the shirt collar and jacked him up against a wall. Murray didn't talk to him for 20 years.

American History X

Tony Kaye shattered his own hand. AMERICAN HISTORY X CRACKED.COM Norton was an incredible pest during production and post-production. While editing, Kaye got so fed up that he offered to replace his name with Humpty Dumpty in the credits, then punched a wall so hard he broke his hand.

Three Kings

David О. Russell headbutted George Clooney. THREE KINGS CRACKED.COM Russell, a notorious turd, was known to overreact and scream at crew members. Clooney stepped up to him during one tirade, prompting Russell to headbutt him. Clooney neutralized the weapon by putting him in a headlock.

The Score

Marlon Brando walked around pantsless. THE SCORE CRACKED.COM Brando had it out for director Frank Oz. Не would only take direction from him via a third party, called him Miss Piggy, and showed up to set Donald Duck-style, so Oz couldn't film his whole body.

Transformers

Meghan Fox called her boss Hitler for... making her work. TRANSFORMERS CRACKED.COM Michael Bay isn't the easiest director to work with, but publicly calling him Hitler and insulting his social skills was probably a bad idea. Bay made a public faux-pology: I'm sorry I made you work twelve hours. I'm sorry that I'm making you show up on time.

I Heart Huckabees

David О. Russell threw a violent temper tantrum. I HEART HUCKABEES CRACKED.COM After Lily Tomlin expressed frustration with his notes and revisions, he freaked out and started throwing and kicking props all over the set. The whole thing was caught on camera! It's wild!

Chinatown

Faye Dunaway threw her pee at Roman Polanski. CHINATOWN CRACKED.COM Among other awful behavior, Polanski wouldn't allow Dunaway bathroom breaks, forcing her to pee in cups. In protest, she hucked one of her pee cups in his face.

Chinatown (Again)

Roman Polanski tore out Faye Dunaway's hair. CHINATOWN CRACKED.COM Their relationship was already strained, and he was looking for ways to hurt her. One opportunity that presented itself: a bit of hair fell across her face while shooting, so he yanked it out of her scalp.

Aguirre, The Wrath of God

Werner Herzog held Klaus Kinski at gunpoint. AGUIRRE, THE WRATH OF GOD CRACKED.COM The two were close friends and frequent collaborators, but still had regular and brutal on-set clashes -- the most volatile of which came when Kinski tried to walk out, and Herzog revealed he had a gun.

Easy Rider

Rip Torn was fired for de-escalating a knife fight. EASY RIDER CRACKED.COM Torn was out to dinner with Dennis Hopper, who starred in and directed the film, when a fight broke out. Hopper pulled a knife, and was enraged when Torn de-knifed him. Hopper later claimed that it was Torn who had pulled the knife, but ended up losing a $1 million defamation suit.
