Jaws' most famous line is an in-joke from the movie set. The boat towing the crew's barge (with equipment for filming at sea) was ridiculously small, so whenever anything went wrong, people started saying You're gonna need a bigger boat. This Is the End

Sony really didn't like the idea of actors playing themselves in THIS IS THE END. So Seth Rogen lied and assured Sony they would shoot the movie in a way that would make it easy to cut around it, if they didn't like it. Troubleshooter, the first script for Die Hard 3, involved terrorists on a Caribbean cruise ship. Bruce Willis didn't want to do something similar to Steven Segal's Under Siege, SO Troubleshooter became Speed 2: Cruise Control. CRACKED.COM

CRACKED.COM Barry Sonnenfeld misled Chris O'Donnell to get Will Smith cast in Men in Black. The producers wanted O'Donnell to play AgentJ, and asked Sonnenfeld to convince him to take the role. Instead, Sonnenfeld told O'Donnell he was an awful director and the script was bad. By the following day O'Donnell had passed on the project.

Wild Wild West

Peters originally made Kevin Smith include a huge spider for Superman to fight in his script for Superman lives. The script and the movie were later scrapped, but Peters' creature, that he called a Thanagarian Snare Beast, was used in the Will Smith comedy Wild Wild West, years later.

Director Francis Ford Coppola goaded the intoxicated Sheen about vanity. Sheen punched his own reflection in a mirror, cutting his hand. Coppola told the crew to keep filming as Sheen stumbled about and sank to the floor. Sheen did not realize how badly he was injured and Coppola had him finish the scene before seeking aid.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Ransom Riggs was going to use his collection of creepy old photos to make a picture book. His publisher said he'd be better off using it as the basis for a novel. So Riggs wrote Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. CRACKED.COM

The screenplay for American Beauty is loosely based on the Amy Fisher/ Joey Buttafuoco story. Alan Ball got the idea for the movie after he saw a comic book about their story that featured two different sides of the same coin, which got him thinking about the truth in the middle. CRACKED COM

The Scream mask was a random find in an old lady's house. The Scream designers' initial ideas for the killer's mask looked like something that belonged on an edgy '90s T-shirt. At the same time, the producers were scouting houses to shoot in, and they found a weird ghost mask in one of them (apparently, the owner's deceased husband collected masks). Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif were drunk during a big action scene in Lawrence of Arabia. The two actors were nervous about filming the Battle of Aqaba, where they charge at full speed alongside hundreds of men riding camels and horses.
