20 ‘Good Guys’ Who Were Villains the Whole Time

‘Rick and Morty are frequently not good people’
20 ‘Good Guys’ Who Were Villains the Whole Time

When it comes to writing a hero, Hollywood has to work around a bit of a paradox. There’s not a lot of room for shades of gray if you’re not aiming for the arthouse, so there are usually pretty clear good guys and bad guys, but the good guys also have to be entertaining. They should be everything we wish we could be: charismatic, irresistible and untouchable, always finding clever loopholes to get what they want. Nobody likes a stick in the mud, even if they’re saving the world.

Unfortunately, it’s actually really important in real life to follow the rules, respect boundaries and give a shit about anyone besides yourself. As a result, lots of movie “good guys” are actually really terrible people. That’s why user Scared_Government_41 asked r/AskReddit, “Which character isn’t considered a villain, but he’s actually a bad guy?”
