“What’s your all-time favorite fight in a movie?” Redditor terrencethetomato asked r/Movies. “One that made you clench your cheeks, raise your eyebrows, or unintentionally blow air and say 'whooooa,’ or if you were even more impressed, a strung out ‘daaaaaamn.’”
After all, a good fight scene is harder than it looks. You can’t just set up a camera and tell two guys, “Okay, wail on him.” Each element, from lighting to blocking to stunts, has to be as carefully planned as a love scene. In both cases, one wrong move could put appendages at risk.
And just like a good romance, sometimes nothing else matters in a movie. terrencethetomato insisted they “don’t care too much about a good movie,” they just wanted to watch “a fight scene that was, well... impressive.” They then asked Reddit to name the “best choreography for fight/action scene?” and a bunch of fighting words followed.
