21 Wildly Successful Franchises That Are Garbage Front to Back

When it comes to pop culture, business and just about everything else in life, we all know that “popular” doesn’t always equal “good.” From the homecoming queen to McDonald’s French fries, success isn’t always a measure of quality so much as accessibility and inoffensiveness. That’s why some of the most profitable movie franchises are complete and utter trash.

“For me, it’s Madea,” Redditor Lemonwalker-420 told r/Movies. “They’re amateurish in a bad way and aren’t even mildly amusing, let alone funny, except maybe to a nine-year-old. I’ve just never seen a Madea movie that I found entertaining in any way. If anything, I find myself irritated after watching these Tyler Perry turds.”

They then asked other Redditors to “name a successful franchise that doesn’t contain even one good film” and a stream of awfulness followed.
