23 Movies Brought to You Mostly By Cocaine

As the poet once said, cocaine is a hell of a drug. It’s known mostly for being very expensive and making you think all of your bad ideas are actually super good, so it’s no surprise that it’s wildly popular in Hollywood. It was especially popular in the ‘70s and ‘80s, before all those politicians and D.A.R.E. officers started showing up to kill everyone’s buzz.

Redditor Walmartmaster recently learned just how popular. “I was talking with my dad, and we talked about how great Caddyshack was and how Harold Ramis spoke on the amount of cocaine consumed during production, as well as during Meatballs with Bill Murray,” they told r/Movies. “It got me and my dad wondering how many late ‘70s and ‘80s comedies can be attributed to cocaine usage? Please list as many as you can think of so I can watch them all.”

The best of that list is below…

The Blues Brothers

Street Fighter

The Last Waltz

Blazing Saddles

Days of Thunder

Runaway Train

No Holds Barred

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

The Crow

Apocalypse Now
