It's not always easy to make a movie. You have to build sets, set up a schedule, memorize lines, figure out costumes, try to stay within a budget, and all sorts of difficult things. Making a movie is like making a miracle sometimes. Making a movie safely can be an additional issue.

No matter how many precautions are taken, accidents or bad calls can happen on set that cause hospital stays for the cast and the crew. Accidents and stunts gone wrong have caused several broken bones, severed limbs, and even death.

It's a wonder what was the worst for Bob Hoskins, starring in Super Mario Bros. or breaking his hand during filming it. The last Harry Potter movie was also the last movie for Daniel Radcliffe's stuntman.

Orson Welles fell ten feet while filming Citizen Kane. It happened in the scene where Kane shouts at Boss Jim Gettys, and he hurt his ankle so bad, he had to use a wheelchair for the next two weeks. CRACKED.COM

J.K. Simmons cracked a rib on Whiplash. During filming, Miles Teller charged at Simmons and knocked him over SO hard that one of Simmons' ribs broke. I'm not proud of it, but after a guy's slapping you and yelling at you for three weeks straight, it's nice to finally... as a character, I'm speaking! Adding injury to insult, Bob Hoskins broke his hand on the Super Mario Bros. movie. The set was a disaster and the actors, including Hoskins, were drinking all the time - which led to an accident involving a truck that left Hoskins with a broken hand. CRACKED.COM

Daniel Radcliffe's stunt double broke his neck on the last Harry Potter movie. During rehearsals for a flying scene, David Holmes did a jerk back stunt, which broke his neck and left him paralyzed from the chest down. CRACKED.COM

The Manchurian Candidate messed up Frank Sinatra's wrist. An on-set accident permanently damaged his wrist, and it was so bad he couldn't hold a pistol comfortably anymore. Which was why he passed on playing Dirty Harry. CRACKED.COM
