What ‘Going to a Game’ Looked Like in the ’70s, & ’80s
Going to a stadium in the 70s and 80s was a fabulous experience back then, very different from today, since there were no smartphones, giant screens, or social media. Families filled the stands, and fans experienced the sport with a very different intensity than today.
The following images show crowds waving flags or scarves to cheer on their team, street vendors, and children going to the stadiums.
In the 70s and 80s, marketing as we know it today didn't exist, nor did there be multiple cameras in the stadiums. The atmosphere was less chaotic, and the spectacle was prioritized over the show.
