26 Wild Ways People Realized Their Friend Was A Horrible Person

As a twentysomething living in Bushwick, I’ve seen friendships implode over moldy apartments, disagreements on Derrida and puke in a bathtub. None of these blowups, however, hold a candle to the folks of Reddit, who came to discover that their close pals were actually awful people.
One Redditor’s epiphany came after noticing her bestie got a little too close with her significant others — three times in a row. The first instance came during their school years. “She was always hanging onto him, flirting, just overall acting like she was interested in him,” the Redditor recalled, noting that this admittedly suspicious behavior magically stopped after their breakup two months later.
The Redditor ultimately moved on to another guy, but much like before, this friend wasn’t far behind, quickly striking up a very close bond with him as well. “She starts going on and on each time I see her about how much people think she and him are a couple and how she is always flirting with him.”
This caused a temporary rift in their friendship, but the most egregious example came years later, when the friend began messaging the Redditor’s now-husband on Facebook. “She ended up getting flirty quickly, and my husband stopped responding,” the Redditor concluded, noting that at one point, the friend even relied on “‘accidental nudes” to get her husband’s attention.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the only time people found out their closest friends were secretly terrible people. The even wilder discoveries below involve theft, unethical case studies and sleeping with someone’s mom.
