In what may be the most jobless move an employed person has ever pulled, 37-year-old Harry Potter star Tom Felton will reprise his role of Draco Malfoy in a Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child later this year.
Harry Potter fans had mixed feelings on Felton donning his signature blond wig to play an aged-up version of Potter’s nemesis in a production set nearly two decades after the events of the original series. Namely, they wondered why the actor refused to let go of his now cringe-inducing high school gig an entire decade and a half after J.K. Rowling’s vocal turn for the TERF-y. “Imagine peaking as a 10-year-old,” one fan captioned a pair of images of Felton trying on his new Broadway hairpiece.
Meanwhile, another Twitter user offered some different context for the now-viral moment. “We surprised an unemployed bald man with a FREE hair transplant,” they wrote. “His reaction will give you all the feels!”
Felton was among many who landed in the internet’s hot seat this month. The most scathing burns included those about a dinner for lizards, MAGA arms and Guitar Center employees.
