31 of the Wildest Demon Children Babysitters Have Encountered

As horror movies frequently point out, nothing is scarier than a child. The babysitters of Reddit know this firsthand, and while no one was on call to perform an exorcism, they’re convinced they actually came face-to-face with demon spawn.

One Redditor detailed the crazy — and only — night they babysat two kids from the neighborhood, saying that one boy peed on his brother, they tried to put the cat in the dishwasher and that they both “ate their dinner without chewing,” and then threw up on the family’s white couch. To make matters worse, when the parents arrived home and learned of their kids’ behavior, the dad spanked them, offered the babysitter $5 as payment and asked “So, can you work overnights?”

Obviously, the offer was declined.

Shockingly, this isn’t the worst babysitting story about a child from Hell. Other Redditors have remembered the children who mentally scarred them, and their stories involve a totaled car, rat-poisoned water and a “real-life Cartman.”

henrijonesjr 9y ago I used to babysit for two little boys, two days a week while I was an uni. The older one was a handful, and the mother always put it down to his blood sugar- regardless of how recently he had eaten. I picked him up from school one day, with his younger brother in tow. The boy was throwing a soccer ball around with a friend when I said it was time to go. Не picked up the soccer ball and started to walk away with it and his friend ran up behind him and asked for
EastSideTilly 9y ago I used to nanny two boys, 3 and 6. The 3 yr old had a real bad habit of intentionally vomiting whenever he wanted to get out of something. Hey it's time to go get your brother! No! Cmon man can we just- - imma frow up Don't you dare (Sing song voice) imma frow uuuuppppp (pukes) Loved those boys to death, would've loved it more if they paid me per vomit pile | cleaned. 6 ...
VivaLaSea 9y ago Edited 9y ago Growing up, my next door neighbors were jewish and when I was 12-15 I'd sometimes help babysit their kids. One time their kids' small jewish school was throwing a party so they asked me to help watch the small children (3- 5yr olds) in one of the classrooms as the adults mingled. I was watching about 6 kids and all was going well until this little boy named, Dor, came along. This kid was the WORST and inspired the rest of the previously well mannered kids to act up. Highlights of the evening include:
Cuteusernamewow 9y ago I babysit a little girl and had to drive her home every day from school. She rode in her mom's front seat, so I figured she'd be fine in my front seat with me. And she was, except for that one day. She grabbed my steering wheel, throwing us off the road. The car flipped six times, through a fence, and landed in someone's field. Her mom came and picked her up from the scene in her nice sports car. I left with an ambulance, a stretcher, and a neck brace. They didn't pay for anything and
outinthesun 9y ago I babysat 5 kids with a friend for several hours on a Saturday. One of the boys grabbed a knife from the kitchen and started chasing us all. We tried talking him down but as 13 and 14 year olds we couldn't do much. we all locked ourselves in the bathroom; the four children with us. Не kept stabbing the door with the knife. This was back in 2003? probably so cell phones weren't very prominent. I just happened to take my dad's work cell because he hardly used it. We called my friend's mom and she
BartokTheBat 9y ago I babysat two kids the mum was super protective of because the dad was in jail. She let them get away with anything. I was looking after them and they'd gone to bed too easily. Turned the light out too easily and I was sat doing my homework when I heard a huge crash and giggling. They'd jumped out of bed and locked themselves in the bathroom and were throwing everything. I had to phone my mother to come help me as she works with kids on a daily basis. Between the two of us we got
redopinion209 9y ago Babysat for a family with three kids. I also cooked, did laundry, and picked up groceries for them off the clock. Oldest was about 5, and one day I caught him sitting on the middle child's chest, punching away at his face. I knew my punishments were very limited, so I grounded him to his bed with only books to amuse himself... for five minutes. I tended to the other two kids when I heard a small crashing noise. I check the bedroom, and see the boy has busted out the screen window and is now running
9y ago I used to babysit this little girl for my dads coworker and when I first got there she was sweet as could be. First big problem though: she didn't speak really any English. So we had a communication barrier but she's a little kid anyways so I thought I could handle it. Second big problem: she did not fucking get tired. Ever. At all. And the third and final problem: she was a spoiled turd who didn't like the word no. By the time her parents got home she had spent half the time yelling, threw her
track-whore 9y ago Most of the kids I babysit are great considering most kids act up around the babysitter just to see their reaction or see what they can get away with. I can handle that, hell im sure I did it to all my babysitters. This one kid though he loved to torture me. Не knew I always gave a good report to his parents (if they knew their kid was an asshole to me they'd feel bad for me and stop asking me to babysit and they always paid me well so I definitely didn't want that) queue
jplevene 9y ago Ok, I was the demon child in this one. Had a joint holiday with our neighbour's and they got a local babysitter for me and the friend's daughter. We were as good as gold, went to bed, no problem. I think she woke me up to tell me the babysitter was asleep in a chair in front of the TV. We decide to tie her up and managed to do it with as many rolls of toilet paper as we could find, she was basically mummified. As our parents opened the door, she woke up. All I
9y ago My cousin babysat and told this one at dinner: She was babysitting three kids, and they were fine all evening until she tried to put them to bed. The older two were fine, but the youngest (5) kept running out of his room and around the house. After the third time of putting his to bed, she heard a noise from his room. She goes up and opens the door to see him standing in the corner, faceing a wall. She tells him to get into bed but he says But he wants you to read us
PM_ME_STEAM_CODES_ 9y ago Not me, but my friend says that the kids she was babysitting tried to spike her water with rat poison on more than one occasion. 55 ...
WinstonZeb 9y ago My sister babysits our neighbors daughter and she brought her to our house to visit our cute golden doodle puppy. Brady (the puppy) ran up to the girl in excitement, and she choked to crap outta him and tried to hold his head on the ground. I made the little devil cry. - 341 ...
biscuitfool 9y ago Repost...and not really a demon story so much as just an unfortunate event... I'm 14 years old and my mom's friend calls with an emergency. Her normal babysitter backed out on her last minute so she asked if could sit her autistic 8 year old son for a few hours. Sure I say, why not. So I get to the house and the kid wants to watch some cartoons. So we watch cartoons. Then he gets bored and wants to play hide and go seek. I tell him to go hide and I'll come look for him
JyoungPNG 9y ago I had a kid who was literally the embodiment of Cartmen from South Park. Не fried his pet rat and tried to eat it. I wasn't there when it happened but when his parents told me I made sure to never see that devil again. - 465 ...
cowtown456 9y ago Babysat for a family with 3 boys when I was about 16, had no problems with the older two but once when it was time for bed, the 6 year old decided to start playing the drum set in their basement. | tried to convince him to put the drumsticks away and come upstairs...cue him proceeding to hit me as hard as he could all over my arms as I tried to defend myself. You wouldn't think something a bit bigger than a pencil would hurt but god was it painful. I was crying and convinced he'd
jfsindel 9y ago I didn't really babysit much but the time I babysat my cousins. One was a wee little one so she slept in her crib. The nine year old however wanted to eat ice cream his mother had put in the freezer but I didn't know the little bastard was lactose intolerant until he shit all in his pants and all over their couch. That day, I learned why babysitters ask for the kids' diets and allergies. 96 ...
Affable_Nitwit . 9y ago Once I babysat a kid who decided that all he wanted to do was lock me in the shed. When I said, no, we would not be doing that, he burst into tears. Не kept sobbing and begging and hitting me for about a half hour. 115 ...
Cereyn 9y ago I once watched two brothers while their parents went to the movies. The boys were around 5 and 6 and normally acted pretty nice, but shortly after their parents left things got really weird. They asked me to come up to their playroom then closed the door. They both started to play with some toys, but periodically they would turn around and start touching me inappropriately. I kept telling them to stop and that it was inappropriate, but they just laughed and would continue. I finally ran downstairs and ignored them while they jumped on furniture and
Sweedish_Fid 9y ago Babysat two brothers. The younger proceeded to get into an arguement with the older. It quickly escalated into the younger grabbing a kitchen knife and threatening the older brother with it. 253 ...
9y ago Edited 9y ago Late to thread but... I babysat two kids throughout the school year and multiple days in the summer when I was in high school. was pretty much a 9-5 nanny when not in school. I really loved those kids, which is surprising, considering the first time I babysat them all day it all went to hell. The older sibling was a boy in my cousin's grade, the younger a little girl. They were maybe 6/7 and 3/4 at this point. I had babysat once or twice before, but never a whole day. I don't
bigbluenobody 9y ago Friend babysat a kid with pica. Had to follow him around everywhere yelling NO DON'T EAT THAT. Kind of like having a new puppy. Ended the night watching him chew on her flip flop while it was on her foot. - 1K ...
9y ago Stuck me with a needle to see what I would do Made painted rocks together. When we set them out to dry they dropped mine in a bucket of water. Had a massive meltdown (over 15 minutes on a street corner) when I walked the opposite direction they wanted to go around the block to get to the park. Ended up carrying two of them, one on my hip and the other over my shoulder while the eldest followed. I am not a large person. Spoke rudely to me/about me in my second language that I had
jlfon e 9y ago Had a five year old pull out a pocketknife on me and demand I give him my Pokemon cards. Also had a kid try to pry the kitchen window off because he wanted to see the kids I was watching that were inside. - 609 ...

Strip_Mall_Ninja 9y ago I had a kid go to the bathroom, poop, run out with no pants (no wiping), grab my house key, and throw it in the poop. While | fished it out, he sat on the couch rubbing his butt. I used every kind of soap on that key. When his parents got back, I waited to get paid. Then I explained things pointing to the spot on the couch and left. 486 ...
KA260 9y ago Edited 9y ago I babysat for a few families on my street as a preteen/teen. Word of mouth spread and a family maybe 6 streets away asked me to watch 3 kids. 3 kids seemed like a lot for not knowing them, but they said they'd only be gone a few hours. Parents leave. Kids turn into demon spawn. 2 little boys and 1 youngest child girl. They tormented her until she was literally hiding/clinging to my legs and clothes. I turned on a movie and they were okay for a minute. Then 1 boy gets up
Adkgirl85 9y ago I had one main family I regularly babysat for after college and they recommended me to a friend of theirs who had two girls. Both families were well off, but very different. Anyway, the second family's two girls were beyond spoiled. I mean, TV reality show spoiled. The youngest, who was five, would blood curdle scream for a good 15 minutes running through this mansion house when it was time for bed. I always felt like an asshole calling the mother but they didn't pay me enough to put up with that bullshit. I'd have to set
jrm2007 9y ago This reminds of a strange family we used to visit. Someone who worked with my father. I was 6 or 7. They had a kid of about three years old. On different visits, the kid filled a toy bucket with piss and threw it on me; I stepped in what turned out to be his shit in the basement. Both times the adults, including my folks, seemed amused. This same kid I think also drank a cup of turpentine that he thought was juice and maybe got his tongue stuck to ice. They had a large husky
THEONLYoneMIGHTY 9y ago I used to baby sit the two boys of family while their parents Went out once every few weeks to get some alone time. I had looked after them before and they were usually well behaved and listened very well. This family had a few cats and they would climb in all sorts of odd places such as in the sinks, bookshelves, cupboards etc. Well this night I guess they had left the dryer door open and when one of the kids went downstairs to get his ball hockey gear I guess he closed the door on
whoatethekidsthen 9y ago Standard kids were okay until the parents left. One boy peed on the other boy. Trashed their bedroom Wouldn't listen and would run away shrieking when I tried to calm them down Both boys tried to put the cat into the dishwasher. Ate their dinner without chewing their food and puked all over their parents white couch. The worst part was when the parents got home and I told them what had happened the dad dragged them out of bed and beat (spanked) them both while screaming about how awful they were, how no one wants to
