51 of the Funniest Tweets from the Week of June 16, 2025

Last week was full of revelations.
First, we learned Paramount quietly pulled yet another episode of South Park from select streaming markets. In May, co-Chief Executive Chris McCarthy claimed the entirety of the series would be exclusively available on the streamer, but industry insiders called B.S., and divulged that some classic episodes were already slated to be scrubbed. As it turns out, “Butters’ Very Own Episode” is now unavailable to Canadian and Australian Paramount+ subscribers, adding to the mounting fear around streaming censorship.
Unlike Paramount, Modern Family star Aubrey Frances Anderson-Emmons was more forthcoming with her revelation. Anderson-Emmons, who played Lily on the hit ABC series, came out of the closet in a now-viral Instagram post by quoting a line from the classic sitcom to let us know that she’s not Vietnamese, but she is gay.
In other classic sitcom news, Ted Danson confessed that he didn’t want Shelley Long cast on Cheers. In conversation with Andy Richter on the Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast, Danson admitted that he told producers, “Oh, no, not Shelley. No, no, no. That’s all wrong. She’d be terrible for that,” upon hearing of her audition.
Obviously, Danson was wrong, and acknowledged that Long then “became this instant brilliant character actor doing a brilliant job. And it was like, ‘Oops.’”
Over on the timeline, more brilliant characters did more brilliant jobs, as proven by these hilarious tweets. The week’s best included those about a sign of low intelligence, a meme and her baby and how to deal with your therapist.
