57 of the Funniest Tweets from the Week of May 12, 2025

In revisiting the week that was, it seems all roads lead back to Saturday night.
The end of SNL’s 50th season marks a less-than-celebratory milestone for the sketch comedy series: It’s now been 30 years since Nora Dunn boycotted Andrew Dice Clay’s hosting stint. And while she can’t stop facing the fallout she endured as a result of taking a stand, it seems that Saturday Night Live would rather forget her — and the incident — altogether. “I was seated at the 50th anniversary in the last row in the studio. I wasn’t asked to be in anything,” Dunn told Cracked’s Brian VanHooker. “And, in the montage of the year that I was on, I was not in it at all.”
In an attempt to be the bigger person, Dunn walked over to SNL boss Lorne Michaels at the end of the anniversary special and attempted to mend fences. “I went up, and I said, ‘Lorne Michaels’ and hugged him and I said, ‘Fifty years, good work.’ He just said, ‘Yeah,’ and he walked away. I went, ‘Now that’s a petty man.’”
While some of the scenes out of 30 Rock seem cut-and-dried, other news is pure speculation. Earlier this week, Michael Che continued to jokingly fan the flames of rumors that this season will be Colin Jost’s last. Taking to Instagram to roast Jost once again, Che posted a series of stories about his Weekend Update cohost’s rumored departure with “fingers crossed” emojis, along with a screenshot of a likely fake text where he wrote to Jost, “Not sure if youre really thinking about leaving snl, but the fans and i think you should,” ending the conversation with “do what u think is right tho.”
On the topic of doing the right thing, it would be wrong for us to keep these hilarious tweets from you. This week’s funniest posts involved an outfit worth gatekeeping, problems for a therapist in the 1800s and a perfect wedding prank.
