Steve Burns may have famously received a whole lot of letters during his time hosting Blue’s Clues, but there’s one thing the beloved host never found in his mailbox: a fair paycheck. During a recent appearance on Rainn Wilson’s Soul Boom podcast, Burns opened up about the not-so-glamorous side of his days at Nickelodeon, revealing that he probably would’ve made more waiting tables than he did during the early days of the show. “Every waiter I ever knew made more money than I did for the first many seasons of that show,” he told Wilson.
We may never know why Burns made so little money for his iconic TV gig, but there is one mystery we’ve managed in the last 24 hours: How Bart and Lisa Simpson — and the rest of humanity — will eventually die.
On last night’s “Stew Lies,” fans got a morbid glimpse into The Simpsons’ siblings’ future, revealing that the pair will eventually serve as the third and fourth horsemen of the apocalypse after accidentally transmitting an argument to aliens Kang and Kodos. Taking their spat as an indicator of humankind’s “war-like nature,” the E.T.s did what E.T.s do best — blowing up the entire planet.
We’ll have to wait and see whether or not Bart and Lisa’s deaths remain in The Simpsons’ canon, but in the meantime, we can at least laugh at today’s funniest tweets, the best of which poke fun at McDonald’s runs, girl gooners and Trent Reznor’s nepo baby status.
