Saved by the Bell star Dennis Haskins may have corralled the students of Bayside High as Principal Richard Belding, there was one thing the sitcom alum couldn’t do: land a spot on the show’s reunion cover of People back in 2009.
In a newly-unearthed interview, Haskins refused to mince words about the alleged slight, reiterating that “it was not my choice not to be there,” in an angry, third-person rant. “I earned the right to be there. If anybody deserved to be on that cover, it was Dennis Haskins. It hurts my feelings, but I’ll live,” he continued.
Haskins failed to take his snub in stride, but the same cannot be said of comedy legend Amber Ruffin, who recovered rather quickly after being fired from hosting the White House Correspondents' Dinner earlier this year. “I was really, really sad for, like, two hours,” Ruffin recalled during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “But, then, I had brunch, so then I felt great.”
