Even after appearing in cringey Frasier-themed commercials for Amazon and outraging an entire U.K. town, Kelsey Grammer just delivered what will no doubt be his most controversial moment of 2025.

Shortly before the recent Kennedy Center Honors, the former Cheers star made headlines for metaphorically tossing president Donald Trump’s salad during an interview with Fox News Digital. While Grammer is obviously known for his conservative politics (which are more in line with Sideshow Bob than Dr. Frasier Crane) he offered more vociferous Trump praise than ever before.

"I think he's extraordinary," Grammer told Fox. “He's one of the greatest presidents we've ever had. Maybe the greatest. There are some things he still wants to get done, and I think that's terrific, but there was a big hill to climb.”

Fans responded to the interview by blasting Grammer on social media, recanting their Frasier love and posting that one video of him falling off of a stage.

One user noted that Grammer’s historic awfulness is well-documented, dating back to the time he had a “one-sided beef” with Eddie the dog.

This wasn’t a joke. As we’ve mentioned before, Grammer was truly annoyed about having to share so many scenes with Moose, Frasier’s Jack Russell Terrier megastar who played Eddie, Martin Crane’s canine companion.

“He gets so much attention,” Grammer complained to The Washington Post back in 1994. “I do draw the line when somebody says, 'Oh, he's such a good little actor.' That's it! He's not an actor, he's a dog!" The Post specifically noted that Grammer slammed his hand on the table “jiggling the guacamole” during the outburst.

In his memoir, Grammer further expounded on why he resents all the admiration given to Moose. “It's widely rumored that I hate the dog,” Grammer wrote, “and it's kind of fun to perpetuate that myth. The truth is, I have nothing against Moose. The only difficulty I have is when people start believing he's an actor. Acting to me is a craft, not a reflex. It takes years to master, and though it does have its rewards, the reward I seek is not a hot dog. Moose does tricks; I memorize lines, say words, even walk around and stuff. But I don't need a trainer standing off-camera, gesticulating wildly and waving around a piece of meat, to know where I'm supposed to look.”

So just remember, the person claiming that Trump is one of the greatest presidents of all-time is the same guy who unironically penned the sentence “the reward I seek is not a hot dog.”
