WandaVision: Kathryn Hahn Says She Doesn't Know If Agatha Will Return To MCU

It may have been Agatha ALLLL along in WandaVision (cue the show's 7th episode banger), but it seems the question of whether Agatha will appear in the MCU heretofore is apparently still up in the air. During a recent interview with People, actress Kathryn Hahn says she has “no idea” whether Westview's resident witch will make an MCU Return, noting that Marvel "runs a real tight ship." Despite this uncertainty, Hanh says she'd “absolutely” return as her iconic character "What if I was like, 'No, absolutely not?'" she joked. 

In the season finale, (spoiler alert for the ballsy few of you that are a month and change behind on your TV viewing and are still reading this article), Wanda traps Agatha in Westview, condemning her to live as her character Agnes, the nosy neighbor, until she is needed.

"You have no idea what you've unleashed. You're gonna need me," Agatha says towards the end of the episode. 

"If I do, I know where to find you" Wanda replies, hinting that we may see the character down the line.

As fans -- and apparently Hahn herself -- speculate whether the beloved character will return, the Marvel comics provide several potential roles for the wicked witch of Westview. An original surviving sorceress of the Salem Witch trials, Agatha plays a significant role in the Marvel universe, joining the Department of the Uncanny during World War II to take down Hilda von Hate, mentoring Wanda in practical magic, and mothering Fantastic Four villain, Nicholas Scratch, to name a few of her notable plots. 

Disney+ has yet to confirm or deny what Agatha's future holds, with WandaVision essentially serving as a stand-alone mini-series, however, director Matt Shakman says to never say never. "We have no plans for WandaVision season 2 at all," Shakman told Collider ahead of the show's finale last month. "That could change, of course. It all depends on what's the story. We were very focused on telling this story over nine episodes and hopefully coming to a conclusion that feels satisfying and also surprising."

So folks, whether or not we ever see Agatha again, she won't be forgotten – “Agatha All Along" will be stuck in our head for years to come.
