ReplyI kind of want to face the back of an elevator now, just to see what happens.
ReplyI had two awkward moments the other day, though the second one was when I was alone, but it was still awkward. First time was when I got on an elevator that was going up, not down. It wasn't until a few minutes later that it sunk in that what the lady who was occupying the elevator had said that it was going up. Derp. (She said it in Chinese so I had to process it for a bit). Second time was when I jumped on to the first elevator that reached ground level, only to find out too late that it was the one that only went to the even numbered floors (mine was obviously odd). Stupidly, I picked a random level when oh I dunno... probably could have used the open door button instead.

I've been in two very awkward moments with elevators that even then i didn't find life threateningly awkward (is that a word) I got my finger stuck in the elevator door when i was 4 for about 2 hours and had to have them slowly pry me out in front of a crowd o.O and then at 12 I got stuck in an elevator 3rd floor with 4 infants and a girl who had diiarrea... for 6 hours. How come those kinds of awkward incidents weren't mentioned lol.

ReplyIt was about to be an awkward moment for the guy who started pulling a knife out on an elevator with me. When I told him not to take the knife out, he said he was just going to clean under his fingernail. I told him that on a closed elevator was not a good place to be taking a knife out. He acted a little huffy and asked what I thought he was going to do. I said, "Die." Some people just don't know when to SHUT-UP!

Taking a knife out on an elevator: bad idea.
Calling out the guy who's crazy enough to take a knife out on an elevator: much, much worse idea.
worst thing to do in vator is camping a f*****g prank like they do in the elevator comedy show noone gives half f**k about.

parties, but, then duck-walking into the elevator of your apartment
building at 9:30 am the morning-after looking like the Horre-Of-Babylon is not a favorite moment.

2) Meeting people from your Bible study group on the elevator while
pretending not to be drunk is a classic.
3) Forgetting you are a gentlemen when a women on a cell phone absent mindedly jumps *your* parking space and then discovering she is a regular on the elevator you use at your place of work.
4) Riding 12 floors and *then* discovering you have toilet paper stuck to your shoe.
AND THE BIG ONE:
5) Have a woman back away from entering the elevator you are alone in, saying, "I'll take the next one".

Michael Swaim's dulcet tones make everything better.
ReplyJust realized that I love the way Swaimy talks. He could read the news, regular news without any jokes in it, and I'd watch it. And that's from a guy that didn't turn on TV for years now.
Replyi agree. Swaim should do some voice acting sometime.
Much as I love Swaim's dulcet tones, this would work much better as a straight-up comic, or an illustrated article.

It was originally just a comic, I believe that it was from subnormality.
If that's the only rule, I wish to rebel against it. I think I'll start facing the back wall of every elevator I ride. The only problem I see with this is that I won't be able to see the confused expressions on the faces of the people who board after me.

ReplyAfter 5:00 pm in our office building, you have to hit the Up button to summon the elevator. There's no sign that tells you this. It's just passed down by village elders.
