Amen Jason. I knew Obama won almost immediately. I was down for a beer at my favorite watering hole, and there was barely anyone there, maybe 15 people. All of a sudden people started flooding in screaming "We won!" I looked outside and people were crowding the streets screaming and being far too excited. I sorta got stuck at the bar because of an inability to leave. At least I had two other people with me that didn't care about all the hoopla either, because they knew the system is inherently corrupt and is set up to primarily to keep the power concentrated to a select group, and to prevent revolutionaries from overturning it. A two party system is like a pyramid, difficult to knock down.

I'd rather not spend a year of my life being lied to through the telescreen. I'll just read about it the next day instead. I had no idea Obama won until the next morning when I opened MSN.com (which was obviously pro-McCain) and in big bold letters, it says "HOW OBAMA CAPTURED THE PRESIDENCY". By later on that afternoon, it read "HOW OBAMA WON THE PRESIDENCY". Same article, two different headlines, different implied meanings.

@SomeKindaAndroid and the rest: My stance hasn't changed at all. I never have and never will believe in the political system. Everyone of them is dirty as fuck, or just another stooge with the right connections and very little actual power (i.e. McCain/Bush). Not to say that that aren't any politicians out there with integrity and good intentions, but those are few and far between, and those are definitely not the qualities in a "leader" that the Powers-That-Be are searching for.
