| #1: More featured content | |
|---|---|
![]() |
We’re creating more and more new content every day and our old site didn’t let us show off all the new stuff as well. In this new design, you’ll see that our left rail has all the most recently published content. As you get to the bottom of the left rail, clicking on “All Recent” will take you our archive page that displays all of our content in chronological order. If you’ve missed a couple days of content, this is where you’ll want to go to catch up. Our middle rail now features some of our recently popular content, and if you tab over to “Greatest Hits”, you’ll see a list of some of Cracked’s most popular content of all time. |
| #2: Thinking of view(s) | |
![]() |
We are now displaying the view counts on all of our articles and videos! Either on the home page or the content page itself, you’ll find the view counts of all of your favorite content on Cracked. Doesn’t it feel good to know that you are one of 2.8M+ views of one of David Wong’s hit articles? We think so. |
| #3: Article Tab in Our Navigation | |
![]() |
Remember how a bunch of you once (or several times) wrote to us and told us that you thought we should have “Articles” in our navigation, because it would be an easy way for you to find all of our articles in one place? Well, we listened to you, but we still told our bosses that it was our idea. Everyone still wins, right? Now, when you tab to our articles section, you’ll be able to find all our old articles and sort them by month and year. |
| #4: Surfacing More Popular Videos | |
![]() |
When we’re not burning the midnight oil researching some of the most badass Presidents of all-time, we’re working with the likes of Spielberg and Copolla (no relation to their famous namesakes) to create hit videos. We’ll now be featuring our popular videos in this module, which will make the likes of Michael Swaim, Those Aren’t Muskets, BriTANick and others just a click away from the home page. |
| #5: Introducing the Cracked Leaderboard! | |
![]() |
Ever wonder what craption got the most votes over the last 30 days? The last year? Ever wonder what article got the most views over the last year? Yea, we haven’t either, but for those of you who have, we are happy to introduce our new leaderboard module. This module is all about you, our dedicated users. For those of you who have written a popular craption or article, or created a hit video for us, we will put you up on pedestal – it’s just like the Olympics without all the drug scandals. Show off your popularity to your family or compete against your friends and enemies! You’ll see us expanding this experience and tying it in to user profiles in the upcoming months. |
| #6: Welcome to the Mirth Canal and Top Picks From Around the Web | |
![]() |
Although we know that 92.7% of all the funny stuff online can be found on Cracked, we openly admit that there are other sites that are funny too. The new home page now features submissions from the Mirth Canal, which is the part of our forums in which you, our Cracked users, can submit links that you think are worth checking out. The “Top Picks From Around the Web” are links that Cracked editors have chosen that they think are worth your time. |
| #7: We’ve gone wider! | |
![]() |
The width of our article pages used to be 500 pixels wide. Now, they’re close to 650 pixels wide! That’s an increase of about 300%! (or 30%... we were never really good at math) With the decreased amount of time and energy you’ll spend scrolling down the article pages, think about how much happier your finger and wrist will be. |
| #8: Enhanced craptions voting | |
![]() |
We (sort of) understand that many of you have lives and that you can’t enter the daily craption competition at exactly noon pst, when each new one begins. In an effort to showcase some of the later submissions, we have added two new tabs to the craption voting area. You can now sort the results by “Recent Submissions” (which will show you the most recent craption entries) and “Upcoming” (which will show you craption submissions that are recent AND popular). So now stop reading this and go write a craption (or vote)! |
| #9: Easier navigation through Categories | |
![]() |
Our homepage category module is designed to make it easy for you to decide what category you’d like to browse. When you mouse over any of the categories, we give you a snapshot of some of the most recent articles in that specific category. You can then choose to go directly to the article or the category page. The category page is now much cleaner and easier to browse through. We don’t want to make it any harder than it needs to be for you to find “The 6 Strangest Objects People Were Caught Having Sex With”. |
