Considering that 5 year olds aren't nearly as articulate as most of these entries make it seem, and that, even then, there aren't enough 5 year olds who pay attention to politics to warrant a good joke about one misunderstanding the election, I would say this was a bad choice for a contest in the first place. The historical events thing was great because elementary school kids learn about history in bits and pieces, but not the specifics of an election.

It's perplexing that the entry theme is "Elections as DRAWN by a 5 year old", yet when I attempt to mimic the style and thought process of a 5 year old (i.e. conforming to the contest rules) people try their best to belittle me and my entires. While I'll be the first to admit not all of my entries were particularly funny, I certainly tried to maintain consistency with the contest theme. So what if I used misspellings and onomatopoeia to depict a drawing of a 5 year old? That is how a 5 year might think. Moreover, while some of these entries are funny (#14 for example) it certainly doesn't look like the art style of a 5 year old, unless by some chance he is Norman Rockwell Reincarnated. Based on my appraisal of the rules, entries 13, 11, 6, 4, and 3 fit the theme the best. The rest are either to rudimentary, too complex, or just not funny enough to qualify In my opinion. That's that. Take it or leave it.

No, it's not a big deal, but it does deter me and possibly others from putting any more effort into these pointless contests. It appears that most winning submissions almost always 0 effort put into them. In this case I honestly thought Quagmar's other submissions were way better, but was actually surprised to see the winning submission to be underwhelming compared to his others. I'm beginning to think that I was overlooked because my submissions looked "too real" to have been done in MS paint, though that is not the case (spraypaint tool anyone?). Maybe next time I will blindfold myself to see if the results are any better.

This is just stupid. I submitted 10 entries into this contest, almost sure that at least one of them would be good enough to show up in the list. I wasn't expecting to win, but I did at least expect to make it on the charts this time around, and I was sure at least one of my ideas had potential enough to decent exposure. Leave it to Cracked to once again pick two or three funny ones amongst a sea of lame ideas that are overplayed and don't resemble the artistic talent of a 5 year old. There were way better submissions in the forum, by other people who I thought for sure would show up on the list. To everyone complaining about cracked having questionable judgment in these retarded contests, go take a look-see at the submission forum. it's no wonder cracked magazine went out of business. They clearly have tunnel vision when it comes to sense of humor.
