Jenna, I'm sorry, but PETA harms their cause more than helps. They actually euthanize over 1,000 animals a year at their headquarters because they can't find homes for them. Also, their latest request was for, I think Edy's, might have been Ben and Jerry's, but anyway, one of the two to use breast milk instead of cow milk for their ice cream. Yeh. One of the PETA spokeswomen said that if you have lice you should try to gently and carefully remove each one without causing it harm. I think they're not really helping much.

As far as PETA goes, while they're pretty much bat-shit insane I see them as an (unfortunately) necessary force to try to balance out the bat-shit insane people who genuinely DO get off on torturing animals. @QueenG: You're right... for those life or death circumstances, but that doesnt include people forcefully impregnating cows for them to produce milk. Which is what we do and why their udders grow huge, drag, form sores and pus. That is the reason why there are antibiotic traces in the cow's milk you drink... along with blood and pus. I've heard about that. I understand we're the only animals that drink another's milk (which is gross, I dont drink cow's milk for my own reasons) but to replace it with breast milk is absurde. No one wants to drink that, and people would need to know that the woman is healthy, what's she eating etc... Makes no sense. If you want to do something nice for the cow's (if that is in fact the point) use almond milk, hemp milk, rice, milk, soy milk... ANYTHING just human breast milk? Come on!
