Other Photoplasty Contests
Next Contest

I posted this earlier. The original contest title was "Low Brow Movies" not stupid movies. A lot of these weren't stupid movies. The original title was much more appropriate.
ReplyProps to #3, 7 , 16.
ReplyNumber 21 is about as accurate as the actual Oscar bait movie it's parodying, from what I've read. - And I would watch 20 and 14. And maybe 22 but IMVHO Kate Winslet is not that attractive, and any movie hailed as Oscar bait would never go too far with its sex scenes anyway.
ReplySomebody reanimate Kurosawa for TMNT, Toshiro Mifune would've made a great splinter. Him and the rest of the cast in Seven Samurai.
ReplyI feel like Takashi Shimura might also be a contender for the role of Splinter (anyway, Mifune could always play Splinter or Leonardo, but what other role is quite so appropriate for Shimura?), but otherwise, I agree wholeheartedly.
Junior migght win an Independent Spirit anyway. GLBT themes are popular in indie movies, especially when it contributes absolutely zero to the plot other than to warn you "There's going to be a lot of fucked-up s**t in this movie." And there always is. Call it the Transamerica pattern:
ReplyTranny reunites with son from when she was a man.
Son's a druggie prostitute.
Son wants to get into porn.
Son was molested by his stepdad.
Son falls in love with tranny, still not knowing they're related.
Also, what the hell do conjugated linoleic acids have to do with transitioning? (Yes, my memory is that good.)
Number 4 would not win an Oscar if it was marketed as a "patriotic" tale. Oscars are voted on by others in the movie industry, which is a very liberal industry indeed. And liberals hate America.
ReplyHollywood isn't really all that liberal. SOPA/PIPA/ACTA/TPP says Hollywood wants to be like China. Much like teabaggers want to be like East Germany with the wall. Also, upper-class tax cuts.
This of course suggests the following:
CONSERVATIVES, Y U NO LOVE AMERICA?
(Also, what the hell are you conserving? It ain't the environment, or the budget. "Traditional values"? Whazzat?)
Hollywood tends to enjoy things like Sunday school environmentalism. Often these are demonstrably worse for the environment. I enjoy hunting. I eat everything I kill. Doing so also reduces my footprint. But getting jungle juice and other woo, as Hollywood types tend to, sucks.
As on the environment, so also on (for example) racism. The tokens exist as stereotypes. If they hire nonwhite actors at all *cough*Last Airbender*cough*Twilight*cough*, you can bet you won't need to ACT, at least not in any original way.
Also, you can really get away with any degree of bigotry, as long as you also hate the right people. That's why Mel Gibson's antisemitic rant was immediately forgiven after Apocalypto.
You guys seriously need to see through the Left/Right paradigm.
Good list, but Home Alone, Bill and Ted, Dumb and Dumber, The Jerk, and What About Bob? are not stupid movies.
ReplyThey are in the sense that they are not "intellectual", "complex" or any of those stupid snobbish concept they use to jundge a movie when nobody is bribing enough.
I think Frank Langella would be better cast as Freddy, not Jason. But that's just me.
ReplyBill and Ted, a stupid movie? I think not.
ReplyThis is a pretty damned good photoplasty. 19 was great, What About Bob is awesome, poster is hilarious.
Reply7: Hey, watch what you're calling a stupid movie. :p
ReplyI would WATCH THE f**k out of Kurosawa's TMNT.
ReplyThat Jay and Silent Bob movie poster looks ridiculous. hahaha!
ReplyI think this is my favorite photoplasty. Especially numbers 1,3,7,16,17, and 18
ReplyThere is something so very, very wrong with DiCaprio and Phoenix playing Jay and Silent Bob.
ReplyAnd yet, I would still like to see it.
I'm sick in the head.
#13 District 9 wasn't a stupid movie! Also, #3 owns xD
Replyyou absolute moron
LMFAO @lost in the ghetto.
ReplySomeone with photoshopping talent should make "Dirty Dancing" starring Keanu Reeves.
Reply"There is no corner." "I know capoeira." (or any style of dance.)
I see the trailer now for #2, "a new Pie F*ck*r is born."
ReplyI wouldn't be surprised if #11 became reality, except with John Singletary attached rather than Ridley Scott.
