Okay yes, half of these arent powerups....and alot of people are tired of people pointing it out...but if the damn contest is about POWERUPS existing in real life...a contest youre competing in for money and fame (LOL fame at Cracked) then yes, I think half of these not being powerups is a very big frickin deal.

If there are guidelines for a contest, they should be followed. Some of the non-power up entries were funny, sure, but that wasn't what the contest was about. If it were just about submitting a funny picture, why even stick to the realm of video games at all?

ReplyI don't see how we need to say any more, the entries don't match the contest. That isn't a petty little thing you can brush off your shoulder and ignore (unless you think that photoplasties aren't important, if so what are you doing commenting on one?). I think this is the worst photoplasty that has ever been done. Several ideas (especially the one that somehow got #1) were directly stolen from the "If Games Were Realistic" or "If the World Ran on Video Game Logic" contests. Sorry if you are bothered by us expressing this distain, but if the photoplasties are going to keep a desired level of quality, we can't have crap like this slip through the radar.

ReplyI love how people don't understand the concept of the contests. "Poweups" are not vehicles, weapons, or what if the game was real. A power up is something that makes you a little stronger or faster or whatever. If you went by what the contest is actually about, you could cut this list down by half
