Replythe original title of the game was Monkey Kong but the j*panese creator of the game mispronounced the title which in his accent sounded like Donkey Kong the name stuck the rest is history

TheBurket, regarding 18; the typo doesn't have to appear in the title, for example, accidentally typing Mr. Robinson in the script.
To be fair, geckos are lizards, so it's perfectly valid
