#1 is pretty awesome, kuttos the the artist!
ReplyHowever I have conceptual disagreements that I can't ignore, so I will give my opinion on how I think it should be.
First I have to mention that "To be or not to be," is a soliquoly about suicide. In other words, "Should I kill my self, 'or suffer the troubles of outrageous fortune?'"
So the 'Objectives', are almost spot on. My main complaint is the placement of the pros and cons.
Action Item 1 should really be titled, "End the heartaches...", which is in the objectives. "Perchance to dream," should be the second objective.
THe pro's of Item 1 - first is correct. second doesn't make since, bc if he killed himself he could not avenge his father's death. It should be, "Avoid th' opressor's..." which is listed in pros for item B
the cons make no since, becuase if he killed himself, he would no stand the, "whips and scorns of time", and the "grunt and sweat..". THe cons should be, "never make it with Ophelia.
Action Item B. ie, don't kill myself. The single title is right, "take arms against a sea of troubles."
Pros - First is right. second wrong, becuase he is not avoiding anything. Fine with just one.
The cons are all wrong. The cons should be the cons from Item A, which apply becuase he would still be alive and still suffering.
the conclusion is great. just delete no action taken, bc he does ultimatly take action and kill them all!
he actually makes a decision, which is completely anti-hollywood. could you imagine a movie today when your basically rooting for the bad guy.
yeah i know he was wronged, but he's still the protagonist of brutal evil. awesome.
Good winner, yay ^_^
ReplyThe reason the "Humpty Dumpty" rhyme never explicitly mentions the fact he was an egg? Because him being an egg was the ANSWER; the rhyme was a riddle. (i.e. "What would be irrevocably damaged by simply falling off a wall?" ... "Obviously, an anthropomorphic egg.)
ReplyBut really: wikipedia that shit.
#18: "Dances With Wolves" and "Aliens" would have probably been more accurate...
ReplyBig Trouble in Little China is just so brilliantly simplistic.
ReplyOne of the greatest "B" movies ever
The only thing better than a literary classic winning a photoplasty contest is the comments section after it does. Everything from those that have no clue what Hamlet was, to a heated debate over Ferngully, the exposing of Harry Potter fanboys, and the magical powers of hobbits.
Reply#1 definitely deserved a win here, but I feel like I'm cheating on the 2nd place entry saying that.
Unbelievable - mу buddy's mother mаkes $87/hour on the intеrnet. She hаs beеn fired from work for 6 months but last month hеr pау was $7227 while working on the internеt for a fеw hours. Reаd more on this web site... MakeCash17.cøm
Replythat's a lie. your buddy's mom is a hooker
Ha. Hamlet rules.
Reply}:)
The Humpty Dumpty thing blew my f*****g mind. I'm pretty sure I've seen this contest before and had the same reaction..
Replyhow can I zoom in on #17. The resolution is too poor in its current format.
Replynevermind... article format.
#16 needs the green lantern in it!!!
ReplyPardon me..but what is #1 supposed to be?
ReplyHamlet.
i like how i can like my own comments

"I'm a christian and I hate harry potter because it portrays evil and I hate evil adn I hate the devil adn it's a devil thing they do with magic because magic is evil" -a f*****g christian
Reply... I'm atheist and Harry Potter annoys me... sarcasm that!
harry potter is not one of the greatest stories ever told.
Replythis should not be downvoted this much.
1. Neither are most of the other stories represented.
2. It's still really good.
#16 makes no sense whatsoever when referring to lord of the rings. Frodo did not have any supernatural powers, Hobbits have a natural resistance to the influence the ring. He was not saved by a mysterious man, Gandalf was a friend of his. Even more so, the world was not dominated by an empire, but attempting to stop that from happening.
Reply Hide All See All 5 RepliesTechnically speaking Hobbits dont have a natural resistance to the influence. Both Bilbo and Gollum had the ring and were influence horribly by it.
It took a long time though, they do have resistance but not immunity. For instance it took decades to corrupt Bilbo but corrupted Boromir in about 5 minutes of exposure.
One does not simply resist the ring.
And Eragon's dad wasn't the assistant to the emperor-type in the series (though he's led to believe that for much of the series - I'm guessing the 'shopper didn't read the last book. Just sayin'...)
Hobbits have no magical immunity to the power, it is just their utter lack of ambition and simple lifestyle that makes the power of the ring much less appealing than say, a future Steward desperately trying to hold onto his illegitimate throne. In the book Sam yielded the ring to Frodo after ample temptation when he saw visions of turning Morder into a garden with the power of the ring. Just Sam did not want to hire anyone else to work on his garden, and he realized how much work it would be for only him to upkeep this hellfre land turned paradise, and he thought about the fact that he did not have enough shears for the job, and that strawberries probably couldnt grow in that acidic ashy soil. So he handed the ring back to Frodo without a fight. They are simple creatures, and having absolute dominion over all life cuts a little too much into ale and cheese time.
Dear Hairy Pooter fans: stop quasi-geeking with your seven paragraph summaries on why something is "technically wrong" with something that has any reference to HP. Save your breath - no one gives a flying fark.
ReplyHumpty Dumpty, not an egg. Well what do you know.
ReplyI love all the people complaining about the Harry Potter one. Guess what? IT'S A MOVIE!!! No more, no less, so chill out.
Reply Hide All See All 4 Replies......No it's not.
Actually it was books too. So, technically that is more.
i'm in this conversation too!! 8D
The chart IS accurate for the movies... for the books, which are so much richer, not so much.
I do have to complain about the mixed up variable assignment in #4. If it's no play that makes Jack a dull boy, then vibrance is clearly dependent on play.
Reply Hide All See All 3 RepliesSorry, I had a way-too-serious moment there.
Yes, which is why the vibrance diminishes as the play diminishes.
He's saying the axis needs switched.
Thank you, I was thinking the same thing.
