Jesse was not going to let the damn red commies beat the USA into space. So he commandeered NASA's experimental rocket ship with his old army buddy Ben, his girlfriend Sue and her kid brother Johnny and shot off into the heavens.

There they were bombarded by cosmic rays, transforming their bodies in strange and fantastic ways.
