Look out, a Sharktopus!
If you like old games, or first person shooters, or old first person shooters, you should download Marathon, made by the best game company ever; Bungie, the creators of Halo, Myth, and ONI. It's free, and legal! It's one of the first games ever to have an in-depth plot, which people still argue about almost twenty years later.
And you can rocket jump and swim in lava! It's the first game to feature dual-wieldable pistols, yet they're featured more realistically than Call of Duty, although I guess even suggesting that that's surprising is giving Call of Duty too much credit.
It also introduced swimming, AI-controlled allies, AI-controlled allies that turn on you if you start killing enough of them, vertical aiming, vacuum environments, single-player objectives other than kill everything, multiplayer modes other than Deathmatch (such as Oddball from Halo, featured with the less subtle name "Kill the man with the ball"), and even idle sprites. Words don't do it justice.
My dad flew a Jayhawk and the XV-15, my grandfather was a B-17 Flying Fortress gunner in WWII, my great-grandfather was a cavalry officer, and my great-great-great grandfather was one of the mighty Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders. And I am a loser who is good at Halo, Marathon, and Battlefield.
