About AyteeSics

I know, this is too long; doubt you'll read it. So, to summarize:

This is a humor website on the Internet, so do whatever the hell you want, critics be damned.

What is the reason for commenting on Cracked; to state whether or not you enjoyed an article, to express your opinion on the subject of an article, to try to crack a witty joke, to nitpick the minor details of an article, or to correct/clarify false, missing, misleading, and/or exaggerated information? How about this: the purpose of a Cracked comment is whatever you want it to be. It does not matter what you say or how you say it, a small fraction of people will leave a comment that agrees with or expands upon your comment, some people will silently agree, and the rest won't hesitate to leave a negative reply, or just an attempt to insult you.

Do whatever the hell you want, no matter what I or anyone else WILL say about it. Be a Troll. Feed the Trolls. Be a Poe. Be sarcastic, even though it doesn't translate well in text. Be an Internet Hard-ass. Don't double-check to make sure you didn't misinterpret something, unless you really want to. Constantly leave comments about Marilyn Manson playing The Riddler, or whatever the hell that was. Leave a short comment that has no point, or a long wall-of-text that no one will read, like I am doing now.

Be honest about your own opinions and biases, because we all have them. Be honest about your beliefs, because the moment you start hiding it is the moment you betray yourself, and the intolerant bigots win. Hell, go ahead and be dishonest if you want to by pretending to be some thing or some one you are not; how is anyone going to know?

Nitpick on grammar and/or spelling even though we all make and miss typos and most people know what the author meant to type, or did not even notice it. Criticize the author for not mentioning something you know, as if you expect them to publish an encyclopedia entirely about Insane Barack Obama Comics Books or something like that. Yeah, those last two things really get on my nerves and I will comment about it from time to time, but so what? I am just one person with my own perspective on things, and so are you. Who doesn't appreciate an opportunity to make themselves feel better than someone else for some extremely trivial reason?

Despite all of that, there is only one real rule for comments on Cracked that is consistently upheld:

DO NOT BE A BOT, or a Spammer.

Wait, does that technically count as two rules, or one?
