PREVIOUSLY ON UNDERKATEBECKINSALE'SBRAWORLD
The Underworld franchise revolves around the centuries-long war between vampires and werewolves. Vampires once kept werewolves as slaves, making them toil the fields while the vampire masters reclined on rocking chairs with pipes and well-trimmed facial hair.
One day, a werewolf called Lucien, playing by the mutated conglomerate of every single British person to have ever lived, Michael Sheen, gets his freak on with a vampire named Sonja. Sonja is played by the endlessly gorgeous Rhona Mitra, so it's difficult to blame him. Sonja's dad finds a way, however. Her dad is Victor, played by Bill fucking Nighy. As you might imagine, he isn't too keen on the idea of his daughter banging one of the field hands.
Victor sits them down and talks to them about the difficulties their relationship would face, and how it would be for the best if they chose to end it in order to prevent a string of broken hearts. No, just kidding, he over-reacted like a motherfucker. He had his daughter burned alive in the unforgiving sun, forcing Lucien to watch with angst-stricken eyes as the one person who lit up the darkness that is his life is broken painfully down into a pile of ashes as if she never existed. Shockingly, this did not go over too well with the werewolf community.
Thus beganeth the war....eth.
