Just The Facts

  1. Few things are gayer than a musical.
  2. Few things say "Manly" like a man who makes a living by removing other men's beards.
  3. Sweeney Todd falls somewhere in between.

About Sweeney Todd

Ok, now that all of the musical jokes are out of the way, let's get serious:

Sweeney Todd is a story about a once happy barber that lived in a beige colored London, until an evil guy rapes and kills his wife, steal his daughter and banishes him from the now gray colored London, the barber then swears to avenge his family. Basically, Sweeney Todd is what Batman would have been if Bruce Wayne had been British and had a fetish for razors instead of bats.

The movie - or play, if you're into that stuff - has a good plot, it's gritty, bloody and a good part of it is about killing people and/or baking them into pies. What else could you want? A twist ending? It has that too. I know, I know, at this point, there's only one thing missing from this dark, gory tale of hate and revenge:

You can see the murderous rage in her eyes

You can see the murderous rage in her eyes.

Really, what more could you ask for?
